Dune London Spring/Summer 2015/16 showcase.

PoseZA was out in Century City recently for an exclusive preview of the Dune London Spring/Summer 2015 Collection at their store in Canal Walk after the hectic week we enjoyed a little retail therapy which was the perfect way to unwind and kick start the weekend. For those that don’t know about Dune London (we’ll assume you’ve been living under a rock lol!!!!!)Because they are the go to International fashion footwear and accessories brand for stylish, sophisticated shoes for any occasion for men and women they also pride themselves on their fabrication, are known for their use of colour and affordability. Apart from Canal Walk Dune London have stores in Sandton City and Rosebank Mall in Joburg They also stock at most Edgars stores.
Walking into the store the environment was relaxed with light chatter amongst guests which included familiar faces from the media circles; we were all received warmly by the Phatic Communications PR ladies and given a brief idea of what we should expect in store during the event. After a helping of the beautiful and delicious canapés and bubbly on offer the next mission was the nail station provided courtesy of the Fox Box where guests could get their nails buffed and polished to their liking.
We were then given a brief breakdown of what the inspiration and influences were behind the collection with storyboards/trend stories displayed throughout the store.Below is an edit of our favourite items that are part of the spring/summer15 collection. SUMMER FADE–Here we have shoes and accessories inspired by the 70’s which are relevant for the coming spring/summer season think of a free spirit boho chic vibe with chunky sling back heels, thick straps peep toe ankle boots,lots of neutral colours such as tan and beige with metallic details, for accessories we see oversized totes and duffel bags as well as charming cross body and sling bags. .
FLAWLESS- The inspiration is drawn from London street fashion, expect effortless yet special comfortable flat shoes such as the quirky brogue,loafers and cute ballet flats,the popular summer staple the espadrille and tennis shoe have been updated with sequins making them that much more special.
VIBRANT GLAM-For the ladies that enjoy pops of colour in their shoes and accessories who look for items that make a statement, the statement this season is in the embellishments and attention to detail, also expect a play on textures and animal inspired prints the rainbow print court shoes with the matching clutch will definitely get you to stand out from the crowd.
SUMMER SHIMMER--As we know metallics have made a major comeback these will be great items for a night out on the town or an occasion that requires you to glam up, expect options for such occasions without looking like you tried too hard. GENTLEMEN- The gents should expect a spring/summer15 collection that is minimalist and classic with pops of colour here and there the beauty of the shoes are in the small details from intricate top stitching,the beautiful mix of textures, and the smart fabric choices of great quality. There are also options for every occasion from boat shoes, loafers, casual slip ons for a relaxed weekend away with friends and family, smart casual ankle boots or dressier brogues for a more formal occasion and going to work in.
