Debut of The 41 Restaurant

This past Saturday, PoseZA attended the debut of upscale local eatery in Camps Bay – The 41

I had been waiting for this day for more than a month as everytime passing by it, while under construction, you could see exactly how amazing it would be once finished. Upon arrival, it was all about the red carpet, everyone looked amazing and ready to party. Besides how amazing the restaurant is, the food is ten times amazing. We were treated with delicious canapés while sipping on champagne or if you wanted something stronger and refreshing, cocktails by Lanique. A huge space with a patio to die for for the upcoming summer evening cocktails. With over hundrend people invited, you could have anticipated  uncomfortable times but that was never the issue. An evening of lovely chats with old friends and meeting new ones and dancing the night off with Ard Matthew. Honestly, The 41 is to be the perfect spot for this summer, mark my words.

Background on the owners and the restaurant :

The 41 restaurant, bar & social hub is the inspiration of two Frenchman, who by a synchronistic turn of fate, arrived in the Cape in August last year & have never left.

Bravo Gilles Blanc and his partner Nicholas Da Costa, international restaurateurs & the proprietors of The 41, who both achieved very rapid success in hospitality domain’s of Australia & Asia.

They also share a passion for business, food & connecting with people. Having become accustomed to the foodie & dining cultures in Cape Town, they instantly saw an opportunity to create a dining experience that caters mostly for the local market, is lively & authentically South African with a hint of International “pizazz”.

In keeping with their exquisite style & business integrity, Blanc & Da Costa recognized the talent of International Greek chef Aristotle Ragavelas. His sensational food combinations & mastery have delighted many across the globe.

Born in South Africa to Greek parents & having received a number of chefs award in Europe, Ragavelas is thrilled about being part of this dynamo hospitality team.
In his words, “ We want to offer a real food experience, using the best African products available to create our special menu that will constantly surprise our diners”.

Formally the institutional Tuscany Beach Restaurant, The 41 is a totally new architectural development and is trendy and chic yet comfortable. The extensive glass-doors tiered dining levels & the minimalistic decor offers the 160 diners an uninterrupted, unparalleled vista of the Camps Bay scene, inviting them to become completely immersed in its unique energy.

When asked about his intentions for The 41, Blanc shares, "Our concept behind The 41 is to welcome all Capetonians to Camps Bay. We want the locals to experience our unique food, sublime cocktails, entertainment & events all year round. We believe that the combination of our prime location, the understatedly - elegant décor & our appreciation of the dining culture in Cape Town, will have a very broad appeal - whether our patrons come straight off the beach for sundowners or visit to dine out on a winters night in front of the fire.”

The response to the announcement of The 41 have been astounding, which goes to show that Capetonians eagerly await the timeous opening of this exciting eatery this summer. The 41 will be open throughout the day, from as early as 8am, throughout the year.
