SAMW A/W 2018

Men. Men. Men. Fashion, conversations, cheers. I'ts that time again. Two more days and South African Menswear Week kicks off with a offsite, invite only show by Dicker, while the rest of us await the next day which will be the official media and public kickoff for menswear week. I am super excited to see my favorite designers A/W collections and what they have in store for us this time around. Last year, my breath was taken by a couple of designers which i have great relationship with now and have worked with on my soon-to-be released visual coffee book. Before I mention them, another great initiative coming to SAMW by one of the best menswear bloggers in Southern Hemisphere on my account, Monde Mntsi for Renaissance Men SA is Menswear Talks: The Business of Menswear in Africa which you need to RSVP for inorder to secure your seat. I am applauding Monde for taking on such a huge project as I believe is long overdue. It's about time that someone thinks of the people that want to get into the fashion industry, especially menswear. To get people that are at forefront when it comes to menswear to speak and educate the newbies about the industry. A slow applaud starts today for this initiative.
Okay, so here are the designers that I am overly excited to see their A/W collection due to my love for their aesthetic, tailoring, fabric manipulation and ofcourse they are sweethearts:
Friday:
1. Nao Serati 2. MAXIVIVE 3. ALC MAN 4. IMPRINT
Saturday:
1. Zeitgeist 2. Rosey & Vittori 3. Chulaap 4. Young and Lazy 5. Sol Sol 6. 2BOP 7. Good Good Good 8. Tokyo James
This year will be a surprise to many with the looks I will be pulling as they are somewhat different to my last years aesthetic but nonetheless I will be giving the people what they want. Here are some of the looks I did last year:
