#MondayInspiration

Image
#Monday Inspiration I have decided to have a post coming out every Monday with my inspiration for the week. Every Monday I will have a collage of pictures that inspire my week ahead in fashion.  Today I will be giving a glimpse of what I will be wearing at the POP BOTTLES event happening this Sunday at the Pavilion, V&A Waterfront. My partner in crime, Anam, has managed to get me all excited when I hear, what we call "International" music (Upper Africa) and got me hooked to getting to know the life, culture and especially the fashion they have. So with that said, Anam and I will be honoring our International men by wearing their traditional attire. I can't wait to see how people will react to this fashion evolution and how they will accept our styling skills .

KOI Restaurant Media Launch

Image
Due to the weather yesterday, I was not able to attend the KOI restaurant Medial launch whichI had been waiting for the entire motnh of September. This is one of the reasons I hate not having a car. Any-who, below is the event through Marina and Jules eyes, so I hope you enjoy it and I will make sure to make a booking for me and my friends soon and experience the fabulous food from KOI. "Despite the stormy weather, all of Cape Town's finest arrived at the Ambassador Hotel in Bantry Bay for the launch of the new KOI restaurant. The exquisite view of the ocean provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of glamourous people, gourmet food and top notch wine. Guests were welcomed with Cosmo's and Mojitos complements of Absolut Vodka and were then treated to bite size samples of KOI's most impressive dishes which included the Peking Duck, seared tuna, wontons and dim sum, fillet and of course the creative and colourful variations of sushi which i...

Ruald Rheeder 2013/14 MBFWCT collection.

Image
I can't remember the exact date but it was last year when I met up with Ruald Rheeder, the designer for Ruald Rheeder brand which is also available at YDE. We met at a coffee restaurant at the V&A Waterfront, and had a great conversation about him showcasing at the Cape Town fashion week. As the conversation continued, I remember asking Ruald as to what to expect from him for 2013 and how he gets his inspiration. Ruald explained to me that he travels a lot to find the inspiration, the perfect prints, fabrics and trims and then comes back to South Africa and creates a collection for his consumers with all the inspiration he received while traveling. I have to say, that is exactly what he did with his Spring/Summer 2013/14. The prints are bold, the colors are rich and the fabrics are quality. #TOPSWAG Search

Yesterday Pose got invited to attend the CSquared exclusive elite selection of Media and the who's who of Fashion to join them at 15 on Orange Hotel for an intimate Soiree to Launch South Africa's most exciting menswear campaign: CSquared #TOPSWAG Style Icon Search Groomed by L'Oréal Men Expert. Served on arrival was red/white wine with canapes of salmon , mushrooms and pancakes. An intimate conversation brew between me, Anam, Pam (from CSquared) snakes (Ambassador for TOPSWAG) and nani, surprisingly about the past fashion trends we have experienced in the black society. I cant remember how it all started but as we shared tails of Carvela, FILA, Dockers, Barker shoes , Aca Joe, vertigo I had a sort of epiphany that actually the African society are the worst when it comes to trends and the profits that fashion labels get from us should make them millionaires by now. We as black Africans used to have the "tendency" of being attached to one trend at a tim...
