Classic Challenge Day 3 : Simplicity can be trendy.

Image
This is my last day of the week for the Classic Challenge look post as unfortunately I will be so busy from tomorrow with the J & B Met preparation, Coke Town Premier and a lot of admin for Pose.ZA. I decided on a denim on denim look even though it is scotching hot in Cape Town. I accessorised my look with gold jewelry, neck piece, bangle and ring. I took this pictures outside my work as I have no photographer with me and asked one of my colleague to take them, not a bad job at all she did. Denim on denim will always be on trend for me, whether in the next 10 years, I will still wear denim on denim. You no longer have to wear the same color denim to be trendy, mixing colour and quality of denim is sometimes what a look needs to be a hit. Simplicity can be trendy. About the look : Denim shirt : YDE / Skinny Jean : Mr Price / Trainers : Puma

Classic Challenge Day 2: Simplicity is effortless.

Monday is always such a busy day for me as its a new week meaning admin for Pose.ZA, still have a steady job to attend to and I am usually so tired because I had no rest during the weekend. I had the camera with me to work and already had planned as to where I will be taking the look post for my second Classic's challenge look but unfortunately due to the amount of work I had, I was not able to do so and after I knocked off at work I could only see my bed. Honest truth, I am always lazy on a Monday but try to be as refreshed in the morning so I can do as much work as possible. Usually after 2 pm my energy levels are working on reserve tank and I can barely keep my eyes open. So for the second Classic's Challenge look post, I decided to ask my trusted little sister who usually takes my pictures such as the intro on The Classic's challenge. She is currently doing TV production at AFDA and has such a good eye when taking pictures which is why I trust her and we shot this loo

Classic Challenge Day 1: Simplicity sometimes is perfect.

Today marks the first day of "The Classic's Challenge" ( click here ) which you will see me pulling outfit looks from only 7 basic items that I believe every person should have in their wardrobes. While waiting for our friend Mandiso to come out at work, Athi and I walked around the CBD as we had nothing to do and decided to get some cones while at it. Remembering the days when we were still young, nothing to worry about, no image to look out for, basically not giving a damn about anything or anyone in the world. When I told Athi, lets get some ice cream cones and walk to Mandiso's work he gave me a look that I know too familiar and replying "I will not walk around town eating an ice cream cone. Have you seen how a grown as man looks when he be licking and sucking an ice cream cone in public?" I could not stop laughing as I imagined it, well, I imagined a fourty-something year old man in a suit, licking a cone at the most busiest time in the CBD and that

The Classics: : Back to basics. That is my motto for this year. 2014 has seen me taking the most risks when it comes to fashion. Looks I have pulled at events have been more than daring as to me it was all about bringing a statement to the table. I wanted people to be aware of my fashion evolution and to open up to fashion trends and have fun with their clothes. The is nothing disappointing than someone who has a great body, the clothes and money to sort of elevate themselves and they just don't know how to put all of that together. The fur coat at the opening of Mr Seelan restuarant in Waterfront ( click here ) , The Black dress coat at The Peace Table ( click here ) , oh and how can we forgot the ball gown skirt trend at the Cintron Polo Match ( click here ) and opening of the Johann Dining Room at Orphanage ( click here ) . It was a great year for fashion, well for me to explore and find my look. As 2015 has began, I decided to go back to basics and re-brand take the

Review: Odyssey Fashion Project 2014

Image
The Year 2014 ended off with quite a Fashion Bang on 20th December as Odyssey Fashion Project sponsored by DDEM management presented 15 designers showcasing their talents at Old Mutual Campus Couryard in Pinelands. The evening saw a variety of designer talent by Cape Town Based Designers as beautiful models walked the walk and Goldie Style Labs Style Reporter saw to it that Cape Town based Photographer Noel Solomon was on location capturing some awesome shots for Style Lab. Photographer credit: Noel Solomon Photography Pose.Za review of fashion seen in images below: As December was quite a busy month for all, I heard about the Odyssey Fashion Project but unfortunately I missed it. Through a good friend of mine "Goldie Style Labs" I was able to review the show. Below are some of the pictures I found representing the event and some of the looks that caught my eye. The OFP was not only about fashion, rather design as it included young and upcoming hairstylist and make up a

Orphanage opens "The Dining Room" with Chef Johann

Image
Before 2014 ended, Pose was invited to the new initiative where Orphanage gives talented young chefs who have not yet had their own restaurants before, an opportunity to headline The Dining Room for a minimum of 12 months and the first chef to take over their kitchen is Johann Breedt. Orphanage has been one of the best spots for a nice brunch with friend and usually turning into a dinner and night out. As it was the last event for Pose for 2014, I decided to dress up for the event. One thing that I love about Orphanage is that you are allowed to dress up and have fun with your clothing, tiaras and all. So I decided to wear one of my favourite young designer, Timothy, a black stretch chiffon ball gown skirt with a back and white crop top and a leather jacket, very monochrome edge. As we arrived at Orphanage we were greeted with a glass of bubbly, G.H.Mumm, and as the socialites, models and celebrities flocked in the party started. The second thing about Orphanage is their
