Image
Check-list: Hair and nails appointment done, attire: done, partner: my old friend Rory. Its the annual Le Kap Lifestyle Fair where everyone who is everyone is going to be. The Le Kap Lifestyle Fair is one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the social calendar, attracting luxury aficionados from far and wide. This opulent affair is a perfect symbiosis of gourmet food, fine wine, whisky, artisanal drinks, fashion, automobiles, design & décor along with musical kur and show jumping. Nestled on the piedmonts of the Stellenbosch mountain range, the historic Blaauwklippen Vineyards will play host to the second annual Le Kap Lifestyle on 6 December 2014. For the first time in the country’s history, a high-end event brings together all the key lifestyle elements you wish you could have in one event – food, wine, fashion, whisky, champagne, cars and horses - and offer them up to a group of like-minded people who enjoy the finer things in life. The Le Kap Lifestyle Fair leaves n

Joelle Kayembe scoops Most stylish model : SA Style Awards 2014

Image
So, the SA Style Awards 2014 where held last week and I was not surprised when it was announced that the Most stylish model : Joelle Kayembe. I have been seeing Joelle a lot lately from the events I go to and I have to say, she always looks on point. The most humblest model I know as I had a chat with her at the ERKE store launch this year and she gave so much advice through her experiences in the Fashion Industry. This post is merely to acknowledge her as a model, fashionista and a good person as you read through her background and her work within the model industry and some charity work. Background information on Joelle Kayembe: Joelle Kayembe was born in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. When she was 11 years old, she moved with her family to South Africa where they have lived since. During her teenage years, Joelle developed a keen interest in art and fashion. Not only did this interest provide an excellent outlet for her but it would also prove to be a precurs

Fabiani's Sandton Flagship store

Image
As next week is the launch of the Fabiani Canal Walk store, below is a press release and the inside of their Sandton Flagship store as they recently opened it not so long ago. Going through the press release and viewing the pictures, I am excited to see what they have done to the the Canal Walk one. My perception of Fabiani has always been a man that is born with style and not afraid to show it to the rest of the world. A gentleman that has a bit of rough to him but always seems sophisticated on week-days but hits Friday you would see him in golfers/t-shirt with the most impeccable cut of jeans. I can't wait to see how it looks and will give you all the front row seat after. “The Finest Menswear Destination on the Continent” The Sandton City flagship store is a warm, luxurious and sensory space offering customers an exclusive array of fashion, shoes and accessories that celebrate the brand’s dedication to colour, quality and that unexpected pop. My View: End of an era, new chapters are born

Image
End of an era, new chapters are born. A black ankle length jacket and a leopard fur coat. Tweed high waist wide leg pants and two pleats green pants. A black boxy top and a dress inspired by the navy, are some of the items I have collected in the past three years. As the year comes to an end, re-doing my wardrobe, packing all my winter clothing into my sacred storage suitcase and introducing my summer wear to my wardrobe, I recall an article I read last year from British Vogue on their Ageless Style July issue by Emily Sheffield, who is known for her work for Vogue for the past eight years. The article “Piece of me” starts quoting “A significant birthday means many things, but what does it mean for your wardrobe” and as I iron and fold my clothes I recall some of my best buys this year. Event after event I have been to is a symbol of my vibrant and free style evolution. I can’t recall sticking to one style or look for two events, some might say I follow trends rather than set t

Alessia Boutique S/S collection launch

Image
Last week Thursday, Mandiso and I attended the Alessia Boutique Spring/Summer collection and cocktail soiree where we were the first people to view the boutique summer collection and introducing a gorgeous imported swim wear by Ani Ani (from The Netherlands) which is all made in Portugal and use the highest quality fabrics which are all carefully selected in Paris. As we arrived, greeted by the owner of the store and having a small chat about not having any sleep what-so-ever as she was preparing everything for the event, she shows pride of her work and dedication which is something that a-lot of boutique owner lack in Cape Town. Re-visiting the first launch we attended for Alessia , last year but owned by a different person, we cannot help ourselves but compare the events. Now Jeannine was first introduced to me last year at an event and we hit it off from then. I can still recall as she was telling me how her daughter is always stealing her clothes and how much she feels Cape To
