TommyHilfiger launches at the V&A Waterfront

Image
Tommy Hilfiger will be launching at the V&A waterfront this April. It came without a doubt that most of the international brands will be launching in South Africa.  I remember walking at the waterfront and seeing a construction sign right on the level where Zara is and thinking to myself which store is now opening its doors to the South African consumers. Suspicions came pouring and recently I learnt  it is indeed Tommy Hilfiger. This is ought to be the best surprise for all fashion fanatics as winter is approaching and we all know how Tommy does the best simple yet trendy garments. I am crossing my fingers to be getting that invite soon for the launch and giving you my viewers an insight.  Lets all cross finger and toes for me. lol.

MondeMunchyJacobs

This post is dedicated to Monde "Munchy" Jacobs.  I knew Monde when I am started high school as the very out and proud person that he was. In grade 10, we started being friends after I came out in High School to everyone, my straight friends that is, and he embraced me and showed me the ropes. We hit it off with another friend of ours, Zozo, and everyone at school started calling us the 3 sisters. We grew close as the high school years passed and we all went together as a group to the Matric Ball. After finishing High School we became even more close as we both took a gap year, trying to figure out what we wanted to do even though we knew it would be around the fashion industry. We were both virgins to the life outside, never drank before and never partied like a mad person, and that year was the year we started all that together. He was a life guard at Mnandi Beach and tried to get me in as well as we were inseparable but I did not make the cut but would always be at

FineBrandy Mobile Bar

Image
This year at the design Indaba Expo 2013, I received an email to go and view a particular stall which was for F i ne Brand.  Fine Brandy. By Design™ is a collection of premium brandies, not just any brandies, but international award winning South African brandies, Klipdrift Gold, Oude Meester Demant, Fish Eagle, Collisons and Van R yn’s. The stall opened from 14-00 to I don't know when as I was a little bit tipsy after a few cocktails from them. The concept is that Fine brandy has decided to create an open bar which will only be launched next year 2014 at the Design Indaba Expo and if you might ask who will be the architecture or designer behind this, well it could be you for starters. www.finebrandy.co.za   Fine brandy has a competition running for all creatives whether in the archi t ectural industry or in the design industry but what is great is that even if you do not fall under these fields but would like to break out and join the d

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Joburg Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg recently showcased some of South Africa’s best Fashion Houses and new talent. Taking place at the Gauteng Legisleture Piazza from the 7-9 of March 2013. brought our jaws to the ground. As I was not able to go and watch due to more significant matters such as my fabulous job here at Shopbop.com I contacted my friend who went and got all the details such as if I was there. The designers that stood our for me, lets start with the Big Names such as David Tlale, Thula Sindi and ofcourse our CPT established Gavin Rajah. They collections were the pit of what fashion and trends make the world turn around. AFI fast track is for the new emerging designers which I was out stunned to see some familiar faces from my previous life, which that is University. I should have stayed and finished as well but my life possessed more creativity.( looks away). Jabu Mkhonzi and Hugo Flear where the best out of all the young
