Post event: The Sunflower Fund Charity Event

The Sunflower Fund hosted its annual charity ball in a dazzling kaleidoscope of colours this year at Grand Café & Beach. One of the most anticipated events of the season and the highlight of the social calendar, this prestigious event took guests on a visionary exploration as Grand Café & Beach was transformed into an explosion of colour by decor stylist Seon Kilian Robinson from Event Interiors. Guests enjoyed ABSOLUTE VODKA cocktails and pizza on arrival before being welcomed by MC for the night Liezel van der Westhuizen. Champagne G.H.MUMM then attempted to break the world record for sobrage with Mumm champagne then being served to guests. Artist David Meulen kept guests entertained while they enjoyed a culinary feast.
The auction got under way with Philip Powel coaxing guests to contribute over R350,000 in total for all the items. Guests were treated to a world class Brazillian inspired fashion show directed by Jan Malan along with his team, which featured Periquita SA Swim & Lesiure wear along with Resort collections by Bombshell Clothing - YDE, Menswear by Craig Port and exquisite jewelry from Princess Diamonds. International dancers accompanied by renowned Rene Tanguy opened up the dance floor as colorful cupcakes were served for dessert.
This glamorous event was well attended by celebrities, socialites and high profile individuals such as Premiere Helen Zille who all helped to make a difference in someones life as all funds raised will be used to add potential bone marrow stem cell donors onto the SA Bone Marrow Registry, giving people diagnosed with leukaemia a chance to find their life-saving donor match and save their life.
