Design Indaba 2014 Review.


The design Indaba 2014 happened last week from the 28 Feb - 02 March. I was only able to attend the event only for 2 days which were the 28th and yesterday 02 March as unforeseen circumstances came about. As yesterday was the last day, while walking around all the stall at the Indaba and feeling each garment, jewelry and architectural designs, I was somewhat proud and overwhelmed at this years designers and their creations. Some of the stalls that gave me goosebumps and proud moments where Renee Nicole Sander ( reneenicolesander.com ) and Denis ( vernac.co.za ). As I was only able to see the fashion shows showcased yesterday, I was impressed with some and of course David Tlale's show caused drama as the models walked straight off the ramp and around the Design Indaba and the finale was a standing ovation at his stall as the models stood beside him. As you all know, Cape Town became the Design Capital for 2014 and I do think we need to pat our selves at the back for the amount of creativity and production produced at this years indaba and how it just made Cape Town the best creative city so far ( Not bashing other cities).
