PASTELS

This spring/summer fashion decides to take a softer and airier approach according to colour and fabric. We finally move away from the bright reds and harsh yellows that came with colour blocking and opt for demure colour schemes whether combined together or used as a single garment in an outfit.
On the runways we saw high end designers like Louis Vuitton apply pastels to a 1920's inspired theme which consisted of dainty lace details, organza and silk.
On the other hand we saw edgy designers like 3.1Phillip Lim sticking to their edgy tom boyish rebellious aesthetic we're accustomed to using pastels, and still being effective without compromising the brand, this just goes to show how versatile this trend is and how any type of fashionista can invest in it this spring/summer.

FEMININITY

For the last couple of seasons we saw sex playing a major role in fashion raging from sheer dresses showing off delicate parts of a womans form to body hugging silhouettes and high hemlines.
What we're seeing now in ladies wear are designers going back to femininity with A-line and flared silhouettes and skirt and dress lengths going back to a knee length hemline and of course Burberry Prorsum would be the pioneers of this trend. This season they went for eccentric prints and African inspired beading in minor details  without these looking overworked like we've seen with most designers that use Africa as their inspiration
