Event: ThisIsMe First Online Verification Authority

Tuesday 23 September 2014 at Shimmy Beach Club in Cape Town, ThisIsMe, South Africa's first personal online verification authority held their launched where MC, Jeannie D welcomed guests who were treated to an open bar and delicious snacks throughout the evening. Addressing the audience about the importance of securing one's online identity was Claire Cobbledick, Head of Marketing for Gumtree SA and Bonita Nuttall of Carte Blanche fame . This was followed by the CEO of ThisIsMe, Mark Chirnside, presenting the reason for the launch of ThisIsMe, the evolution of identity management as well as the importance of being in control of one’s own online presence and data. After much information about the imporatnce being in control of your online life, Nik Rabinowitz wrapped up the formalities with a lighter take on identity which had guests in stitches. I was shocked to hear that the MC of the night, Jeannie D was also a victim of online theft for a company that sold dieting pills. I still cannot belive it as I personally feel, with the rest of the world I should think, that Jeannie D does not ever need to loose weight.
