Le Kap Lifestyle Fair
On the 6th of December, the annual Le Kap Lifestyle fair took place at Blaauwklippen Vineyards, Stellenbosch where it delivered all finer things in life to its guests. Socialites and celebrities where all gathered in the Veuve Clicquot VIP lounge where big hats and fashion met while man enjoyed playing with their favourite toy, Bentley cars. As we arrived at this beautiful and breathtaking vineyard on a sunny afternoon, I fell in-love with the way the vineyard was transformed into this exclusive exquisite situation. Veuve Clicquot champagne was bottomless and each table had mouth-watering canapés.
The ambiance was a very chilled patio, with white overpowering on the decor. As the a-list socialites of Cape Town and around the globe filled the VIP, the fair continued to entertain us. We had numerous chefs preparing different dishes at allocated time. My favourite Italian restaurant, Seelan, gave us a sneak peek into traditional Italian food. Mr Seelan is one of the recognized chefs around as he was the head chef for the Shimmy Beach Club before opening his own restaurant early this year at the V&A Waterfront.
As I was accompanied by my good friend and beer and whisky lover, Rory, we headed to the whisky tasting for Glenmorangie where we were educated about the whiskies history and how it’s made. After 30 minutes of Rory being intrigued and tasting the whisky, I was waiting patiently for the dressage and show-jumping to start as it meant the fashion show was on its due course. It was amazing to see how the young ladies were one with their horses as they showed us some tricks they had up their sleeves and kept us surprised. The fashion show was a stopper as models came walking down the red carpet. One of the models was one of the top 5 ladies for Miss S.A and it clearly showed why as she strutted herself on that ramp. It was a beautiful scenario that made every fashion lover go MAD as the best South African designer labels showcased their ranges.
We went around to all the stalls as they had the best wines made and produced in and around Cape Town where we tasted most of them as Rory, luckily for him, needed some wine for his daughter’s wedding. He ended up getting box of wines and a lot of different types of cheese as they also produce them. The Le Kap Lifestyle fair outdid themselves and I am thankful for the invite I received from Caroline at Vivid Luxury. As we drove home, I was reminiscing about the amount of people I met and how much fun it was and very much insightful. It is said that once you start with POLO, you will forever be a POLO.
