Dune London invited media to a preview of their collection late last month, giving them the front row seat while unveiling their S/S 2014 collection. Inspired by graphic shapes, sugar rush tones, citron colour pops and western influences, the Dune London SS14 collection brings together revitalised signature styles along with new, trend-led concepts. Monochrome colours, mirrored metallics and elements of hardware add a touch of sharp modernity to graphically impactful designs. Attention is drawn to re-working signature shapes; summer sandals feature a variation of heel types and flats take on a more masculine feel.  Sugar rush hues come in pretty ballet flats, delicate strap heels and minimal sandals, adding an essence of dreamy, playfulness to the collection. The light palette of pastel shades conjures the air of freshness that summer brings. Citron pops of juicy, vibrant colours instantly energise simple styles, and the intricate metal detailing provides a sharper edge to finishing.
 
 
 
 

 


 

 




 Taking inspiration from Raw Hide; Dune London encompasses this season’s global traveller trend in more relaxed concepts to give elements of the collection a western feel. Emphasis is placed on textures in a mash-up of woven fabrics, pony skin, raw leathers and organic textures. The metal trim strap sandal ‘Halette’ is entirely exclusive to Dune London, in keeping with the hardware aspect of the collection.

So, the SA Style Awards 2014 where held last week and I was not surprised when it was announced that the Most stylish model : Joelle Kayembe.
